| Treatment | The decision was made to perform a biopsy secondary to concern over possible malignancy based on the bony changes evident on imaging. A lateral orbitotomy of the left orbit was performed through a lid crease incision. The mass was identified and excised with curettage of the involved bone.
P. C. did extremely well following his excision and curettage. He experienced resolution of both his pain and proptosis. Repeat CT scan one and a half years after his surgery revealed regeneration of the involved bone, typically seen in these patients when the periosteum is preserved. | |
